Figure SSA-ind-025. The sacred patron of arts and sciences, the elephantocephalic (elephant-headed) god of new beginnings, intellect and wisdom, the Remover of Obstacles Ganesha, wearing the serpent Vasuki with the cranial gemstone as yajnyopavita (sacred thread) around his body and holding the long rearing naga hooded cobra with the cranial gemstone with both of his back hands, creating an arch above his head. |
