Caped Satan (possibly Abaddon/Apollyon, the "Destroyer", the "Angel of the Bottomless Pit"?) riding the bipede, caudate monster (The Beast?) and carrying Judas on his lap, surrounded by the souls of sinners drifting downstream in the River of Fire and being dragged down by the little black winged demons (the General Judgment); the primeval spirit of the sea, Thalassa, holding a galley, riding a sea monster, and surrounded by other ophiomorphic or composite creatures (sea snake, sea monster, polycephalic and tetrapteric gryphon (?), winged lion) and aquatic, semiaquatic, and marine animals (whale, seal, polar (!) bear) of the Last Judgment, some of them returning their dead; Anemoi (Four Winds: Boreas, Zephyros, Notos, Euros) blowing from each corner of the body of water (The Ocean or The Sea of Glass?); crowned Four (and Twenty?) Elders, the agent heads of a city, family, tribe, or nation and representatives of the redeemed human race. |
